Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia, February 2018… The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali went above and beyond for its annual Appreciation Gathering on Thursday, 1st February 2018. This smart event saw more than 300 of Bali’s leading travel agents and media representatives come together for a social evening of local elegance.
Invited guests were welcomed to the resort’s newly enhanced Lobby, which is now a design-driven space that stimulates the senses. It is a setting that conceptually emulates a secret garden with clusters of crystalline glass ribbons suspended from the ceiling to mimic migrating flocks of birds.
Cocktails were served to coincide with Unwind, a meaningful ritual conducted at the resort to acknowledge the transition from day to night. This involved a traditional Balinese parade, the dimming of lights and a subtle change in music to lull the body, mind and spirit into a state of relaxation. Meanwhile, a fashion parade took place to showcase a range of ethnically-inspired clothing by Bali-based leading designer Dwi Iskandar.
A flash mob of costumed dancers then led the way and everyone proceeded to the elaborately decorated Nusantara Hall. Speeches were made along with the presentation of awards to top performing partners. Dinner was a delicious buffet served from hot and cold food stations positioned all around the room represented the resort’s dining venues including Prego, Velada Tapas Bar and Kitchen and few more by Executive Chef Manoj Rawat and his culinary team.
Entertainment during the Appreciation Gathering was provided by former Indonesian Idol finalist, Citra Scholastika. This talented songstress took to the stage accompanied by a backing band to perform a number of well-known jazzy-pop hits.
Door prizes were drawn at intervals throughout the entire evening and lucky winners took home accommodation vouchers from supporting Marriott Hotels & Resorts around Asia. The grand prize was a return trip to Bangkok, Thailand courtesy of Thai Airways including a two night stay at sister property in Bangkok, Thailand.
“Time to Shine got 2018 off to a positive start by enabling our associates and travel industry executives to connect in an uplifting setting away from the office. This event was made even more special with the support from our sister properties around globe. Roundtrip flight to Bangkok was generously provided by Thai Airways, while flights for the Indonesian Idol and her team were supported by Asia Collection Tur. All audio visual technology for the evening was supplied by FOCUS.
